I gotta admit, I was totally excited about completing #97 Organize My Life and Keep It That Way." My life and everything in it had become one big mess. I had bills mixed in with coupons that were all expired. I needed to find my birth certificate and I shuddered at the thought of where it might be! I had never been that unorganized and I knew it was time to make a change. My photography business had poured into my personal life and I had become stagnate. So, I got up, put on my summer soundtrack and got to work! Check out my post http://my-bonny-bucketlist-2015.blogspot.com/2015/11/68-create-summer-soundtrack_28.html, to see what songs I put together!
This is just one of the 'best' snapshots I took. I like to do a before and after piece. In this case, after looking over the photos I shot, I quickly changed my mind. But once I got my playlist going, I was good to go! It was a 6 day journey to total organization and looking back now, there are 5 Key Factors I realized that made the process successful.
Do Plan the System you want to use. This is important, no crucial. Your filing system may incorporate file folders, portfolio folders, binders and document protectors, a file cabinet, and/or bookshelves. Find your style. Find a system that is easy to use and maintain the will to keep everything tidy, neat, and in it's place.

When I move around, I take it with me and in turn, take them with me as well.

and gave my room a good, deep cleaning and organizing and in the span of about 6 minutes my littlest nephew demolished it! I had to laugh, but I learned a great lesson. Keep the little ones, and other distractions, out.
Do Put on a good record. Okay, maybe not record, that's a little too old school. But definitely, a good soundtrack can give you that kick in the rear to get up and get it done! I mean, if you can listen to Pharrell's "Happy" and Katy Perry's "Firework" and not get some prep in your step, well...
Do Check yourself before you wreck yourself... Regularly. It's great to organize your life, school, business, etc. But you have to know that eventually things are going to start coming in. Not only do you need to manage and file what comes in, but you will also need to toss out more. I'm not a believer in scanning docs and saving to the cloud, but I have friends who swear by it. And I have to say, it's pretty awesome. Instead of keeping track of old paid bills in a folder in a file cabinet, they scan them to the cloud, and shred the papers. I like having tangible docs, so I have a folder and binder system that I use. I store mine in an outdoor storage to save office space.
I love the finished product. I burned all of my home made family videos to DVDs and made custom cases for them, sorted photos into albums, and our recycling bin runneth over!
So, ask yourself. What do I really need. Organize your life and you'll be the better for it!
